England blow New Zealand away at Lord’s

rugby

New Zealand needed 239 to win the first test but were routed for just 68 with Stuart Broad taking his best test figures of 7 for 44. Afterwards I spoke to him and a happy captain in front of the Lord’s pavilion – before Broad and James Anderson added their names to the Lord’s honours board

Blowers was on early duty for a TMS photo call. Jeremy Coney rang the bell for the start of play, comedian Andy Parsons was our View from the Boundary guest and Michael Palin commentated on the first over after tea…a typically busy day in the TMS office

Meanwhile on the second day Old Etonians from different eras made their mark in the TMS box

The biggest talking point during a turgid opening day was the price of Jamie Oliver’s sausage sandwiches
