3rd Test

Rain washed out most of the final day, enabling England to draw the Test and retain the Ashes. During the course of the match Gary Neville gave a brilliant insight to the mindset of a top international sportsman, as well as revealing a deep passion for cricket. Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley popped in to tell us about the Lancashire Foundation.

Meanwhile John Altman revealed that he has worked with just about everybody that is anybody in the music industry while Danny Alexander MP, who confirmed that Ed Balls is a potent sledger from behind the wicket for the Lords and Commons X1, brought only half a cake – the result of Government cuts, presumably. Saturday’s View from the Boundary with round-the-world sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston was one of the best, and England goalkeeper Joe Hart was a very welcome tea guest.
